Joe Abelson, Vice President, iSuppli Corporation
Joe brings more than 24 years of multi-national management experience to iSuppli. He is an expert on the technology industry and business practices of China as well as global electronics marketing, distribution and channel management. Prior to joining iSuppli, Joe served as the vice president of strategic marketing for Avnet Asia. There, he launched a successful pan-Asia business unit which exceeded $100 million in annual revenues during its second year of operation. Additionally, he directed a highly publicized strategic alliance with the Chinese government's Ministry of Information Industry, leading the team that created the first real-time quotation system for electronic components in China. Joe also co-developed China's first online technical seminar series which has since been attended by thousands of engineers. At iSuppli, Joe is responsible for research and consulting in the areas China sourcing, China market development, supply chain strategy, and channel management.


Elaine Bailey, Chief Executive, Escend Technologies
Elaine leads Escend with over 20 years' experience as a successful high-technology CEO and deep expertise in software and electronics markets. She sets overall corporate direction, planning and strategy for Escend, in addition to serving as chairman of the board of directors for the Company. Elaine has a strong record of capitalizing companies for growth, including recently raising $7 million to develop Escend's next-generation products and expand into Europe, Asia and Japan.

Prior to Escend, Elaine was CEO and board member of two software companies: PaperWise Document Imaging (acquired by Bell + Howell) and Applied Medical Informatics (acquired by Merck). She also served as Vice President of the Michigan Strategic Fund, a venture firm chartered with diversifying Michigan's economy and as founder and CEO of the ELM Group, Inc., a manufacturers' representative firm. Additionally, Elaine has worked with a number of top technology and media companies including Apple Computer, IBM, Sun Microsystems, Cornerstone, Tecmar, Prentice Corporation, Disney, Texas Instruments, Dow Jones, and Inapac.

Elaine is also a venture capitalist with strategic investments in several semiconductor companies, including Transmeta, Inapac, Tradec, Amphus, Hewlett-Packard, Houston Instruments, and Locus Computing.

Elaine earned a bachelors degree from Eastern Michigan University.


Robert Anson, Vice President, i2 Technologies
Bob Anson is the Senior Director for i2's SRM Solutions with primary responsiblity for solution strategy and product management. Bob has been with i2 for five years, having originally joined Aspect Development. With extensive industry experience in both engineering and sourcing solution areas including PLM, component management and spend management across high tech, industrial and automotive applications Bob has worked with both customers and solution partners in marketing and product management roles, providing a broad perspective on customer business drivers, process best practices and the prevailing trends in structured content and supplier relationship management systems.
Craig Brown, Vice President, Director of Materials Operations Technology and Manufacturing Group, Intel
Craig Brown has worked at Intel for 23 years across Silicon Foundry group, Component Contracting and the Materials Organization. He spent 2 years in Japan establishing the first International Procurement Office for acquisition of Materials for Intel in Asia. He is most proud of the commodity management structure that was developed in the 1980s and still stands today, executive supplier relationships and cross-functional commodity teams. Craig also championed the Materials 100% eBusiness initiative that is in it's fifth year. Craig is currently Vice President, Technology Manufacturing Group, and Director of Materials Operations, where he manages all of the manufacturing materials activities at Intel. He received his BA Degree in finance from Utah State University.
Cono Carrano, Partner, Dewey Ballantine LLP
Mr. Carrano is a registered patent attorney, specializing in complex patent litigation. His litigation experience primarily involves semiconductor, electronics, software, wireless and optics technology and he has represented clients before the U.S. district courts, International Trade Commission and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Mr. Carrano has represented clients, such as Intel Corporation, in numerous matters involving a broad range of intellectual property issues. He has also worked extensively with patent trial counsel in various European and Asian countries.

Prior to becoming an attorney, he was a Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories.


Fadi Chehadé, Chairman & CEO, Viacore, Inc.
Fadi Chehadé is Co-Founder, Chairman & CEO of Viacore, Inc. which specializes in private-community planning, enablement, and operations. Fadi has 18 years experience in the computer industry and a proven track record as a startup CEO. He has founded three companies since 1989, including RosettaNet, the computer and electronic components industries leading eBusiness consortium. Prior to RosettaNet, Chehadé was vice president of Ingram Micro's Customer Information Services Group where he led the creation and development of Ingram Micro's Web-based extranet, successfully weaving hundreds of suppliers and thousands of resellers into a powerful business Web of applications and content.

In a period spanning more than a decade, Chehadé has built and promoted tools and practices that foster cooperation between computer companies to facilitate electronic commerce amongst themselves and with their trading partners. In 1992, he launched nettConnectioný, an innovative Lotus Notes-based extranet application, linking tens of companies in the U.S. to their distribution channel partners in 36 countries, enabling efficient commerce and structured information sharing.

Previously, Chehadé was CEO of Infoware Development, a software developer of business publishing tools designed to build corporate information warehouses on the Internet. In 1989, he founded Connectica, Inc., which designed and implemented marketing and distribution strategies for U.S. based software publishers to penetrate European and Asian markets.

Chehadé is a graduate of Stanford University, where he earned a master's degree in Engineering Management. He also earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Polytechnic University in New York.


Shoshanah Cohen, Director, PRTM
Shoshanah Cohen is Pacific Region Lead Director of the Worldwide Supply Chain Management Practice at global management consulting firm PRTM. She is also a leader in the firm's Computers and Electronics Practice, and has extensive experience working with computer, peripherals, electronic equipment, and semiconductor equipment manufacturers. Ms. Cohen has over 15 years of experience across multiple areas of manufacturing and operations including supply chain integration, lean manufacturing, design and application of enterprise resource planning systems, demand/supply management, order fulfillment, and new product introduction. Ms. Cohen is the co-author of the forthcoming book Strategic Supply Chain Management: The 5 Disciplines for Top Performance (McGraw Hill, 2004).

Ms. Cohen holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from Stanford University, an M.A. in technology strategy from Boston University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. She is Certified as a Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) by APICS.


Adam Pick, Senior Analyst, iSuppli Corporation
Adam brings extensive market research, strategic planning, and operational experience to the iSuppli team. In addition to following the EMS and ODM sectors, Adam previously served as a program manager on a global, new product introduction for a $500 million, NASDAQ-traded client of iSuppli. The project involved several suppliers, hundreds of employees and a roadmap of over 20 new products.

Formerly, Adam was employed by leading technology companies including Dell Corporation and Ariba, Inc. where he developed, implemented and executed supplier selection services specific to silicon, packaging, test, software and foundry suppliers.

Adam earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
Dale Ford, Vice President, Market Intelligence Services, iSuppli Corporation
Dale Ford is a well-respected industry analyst with years of experience producing award winning market research reports and leading a team of analysts at Dataquest/Gartner Group recognized for being leading contributors within the organization. At iSuppli, Dale manages the research teams responsible for competitive analysis, forecasting, and supply/demand research of the electronics components industry. In addition, Dale focuses on research and enhanced visibility on the products, technologies, and players shaping the wireless communications market. Dale was Chief Analyst and Director for Dataquest/Gartner Group, leading a team that delivered market research in seven syndicated services covering semiconductor applications, supply and pricing, and detailed equipment analysis. Prior to Dataquest/Gartner Group, he served at Sun Microsystems as a Product Marketing Associate. Dale earned a BSEE degree from Brigham Young University and an MBA from The Wharton School.
Greg Frazier, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Services, Avnet
Greg Frazier serves as Executive Vice President of Avnet Supply Chain Services, a service branch of Avnet Electronics Marketing (EM), which includes Avnet Integrated Material Services, Avnet Promiere, Avnet Supply Network Services and the Avnet Electronic Manufacturing Services Industry (EMS) sales channel. He was elected a corporate vice president in 1999, and reports to Harley Feldberg, president of EM Americas.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Frazier served as executive vice president and president of Avnet Integrated Material Services (IMS), the EM business unit he established. IMS provides industry-leading supply-chain management services. In recognition of his pioneering efforts in value-added services and his position as an industry expert, he was listed among Electronic Buyers' News' Hot 25 Executives for 1998. He had previously created Avnet's Strategic Account Organization, focusing on the distribution needs of the Fortune 500's top 50 electronics companies. The success of that organization led to the formation of Avnet's Value-Added Services Organization, the precursor to IMS. Mr. Frazier joined the company in 1977.


Rob Harlan, Corporate Procurement Director, Motorola
Rob Harlan, Corporate Procurement Director, at Motorola has program budget and execution responsibilities for Motorola's eProcurement systems. Mr. Harlan manages the strategy and implementation of Motorola's systems which supports a companywide spend of $18B and over 750 resources worldwide.

Mr. Harlan is a frequent contributor on Motorola's success in the eProcurement space for both direct materials and indirect materials/services. His assessment of Motorola's progress in eProcurement has been featured in the Purchasing Magazine, Aberdeen research, InformationWeek.com, and Line56. In 2003, Mr. Harlan was recognized by Computerworld as one of the Top 100 premier IT leaders.

Mr. Harlan also led Motorola's Internet Negotiation program which was awarded the 2004 Franz Edelman designation by the INFORMS organization for excellence in operations research and management science.

Mr. Harlan is also a frequent speaker at various supply chain and procurement conferences as well as serving for the last three years as Chairman of the Emptoris user group.

Prior to joining Motorola, Mr. Harlan was a Principal in IBM's eBusiness Practice focusing on selling and delivering eBusiness solutions to a diverse set of clients.

Prior to IBM, Mr. Harlan was a Senior Manager in Deloitte and Touche's systems implementation and business reengineering practice to manufacturing companies.

Mr. Harlan obtained his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in Industrial Engineering and his MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.


Daryl Hatano, Vice President, Semiconductor Industry Association
Daryl Hatano is the Vice President of Public Policy for the Semiconductor Industry Association. In that capacity, he has responsibilities for the association's international trade, legislative and workforce strategy programs.

SIA's international trade program has included the implementation of the U.S.-Japan Semiconductor Agreements of 1986, 1991, and 1996 -- which contributed to an increase in foreign share in Japan from 8.5% in 1986 to over 30% today; and the 1998 elimination of European semiconductor tariffs -- which has saved U.S. producers and their customers $1.5 billion. SIA's legislative successes include the passage of the Semiconductor Chip Protection Act, the National Cooperative Research Act, and the American Competitiveness and Workforce Improvement Act. SIA's workforce strategy program seeks to insure a qualified workforce to support industry growth with activities at the K-12, technician, and engineering levels. Mr. Hatano has been with SIA since 1983.

Mr. Hatano has an undergraduate degree in political science and economics from the University of California at Davis, a Juris Doctorate from the U.C. Davis Law School and a Masters in Business Administration from U.C. Berkeley's Haas School of Business Administration; and is a member of the California Bar. Mr. Hatano has published articles in the area of business and public policy in the California Management Review, the American Journal of Business Law, and Managerial Planning. Mr. Hatano currently serves on the board of directors for the U.S. Information Technology Office in Beijing, the Advisory Board to the Maricopa Advanced Technology Education Center (a National Science Foundation funded program that is working with community colleges across the country to train high tech technicians), the Japan Society of Northern California, the Cost Recovery Action Group (a coalition to encourage capital investment in the US through accelerated tax depreciation). Mr. Hatano is also a member of the Foundation Board of Trustees for the University of California at Merced, the first new research university built in the U.S. this century.


Bien Irace, Vice President Channel Sales and Marketing, Cypress Semiconductor, an OEM representative
Bien Irace is the vice president of Channel Sales and Marketing at Cypress Semiconductor Corporation. She is responsible for all aspects of the Channel Sales and Marketing organization including global distribution and Electronics Manufacturing Services. Ms. Irace established the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) Sales and Marketing organization at Cypress in 1996. Seven years later, she was promoted to her current position as vice president of Channel Sales and Marketing.

Prior to joining Cypress, Ms. Irace spent five years at National Semiconductor in product engineering and marketing. She holds a bachelors degree from the University of California, Davis and a graduate degree from Stanford' s Executive Program. She is a 14-year semiconductor veteran.


Paul Katz, Vice President, Digital Supply Chain Solutions, Arrow Electronics
Paul Katz leads Arrow's Digital Supply Chain Solutions organization supporting the development and commercialization of Arrow's Supply Chain services. This includes the e-commerce supply chain management tools used by all of Arrow's operating groups as well as the provision of tailored design and implementation services to meet the supply chain needs of Arrow's customers. These supply chain services are associated with over two-thirds of Arrow's North American component business revenues and Arrow has received significant public recognition as a leader in e-commerce.

Paul joined Arrow in 1999 to lead the company's focus on supply chain solutions. Before joining Arrow, Paul was a senior partner in the Supply Chain Strategy practice of Mercer Management Consulting. His consulting experience in supply chain management spanned over 15 years working with leading companies in over two dozen distinct industries, including the high-tech industry.

Paul holds a B.S. in engineering from Yale University, an M.S. in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from the Wharton School. He speaks at the supply chain conferences of various organizations including the Supply Network Conference, Comdex, the SupplyChain Council, the Electronic Supply Chain Association, the Council of Logistics Management, the National Association of Purchasing Management, the International Quality and Productivity Center and the Institute of International Research. Michael Kirschner, President, Design Chain Associates
Mike Kirschner has 23 years of extensive cross-functional experience in all phases of the product lifecycle, from conception through production and end-of-life at both Electronics OEMs and semiconductor suppliers. He has held engineering and engineering management positions at Compaq, Tandem, Intel, and Intergraph, as well as at several start-ups in Component Engineering, Quality Assurance, Software Development, and Product Design roles. Prior to founding Design Chain Associates, Mike held the position of component engineering manager at Compaq's Tandem Division. Mike received his BSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA and is a member of the IEEE and ISM. Mike is also on the Editorial Advisory Board of Electronics Supply & Manufacturing Magazine, a CMP publication.
Jim Lawton, Vice president of Marketing, Optiant
Jim shapes the strategic direction of the company with global marketing leadership and product development strategy. He leverages extensive experience in manufacturing and technology marketing to guide Optiant' s growth into new markets, and ensure that Optiant' s solutions continue to significantly improve bottom-line performance for manufacturers across industries. Jim draws on two years as vice president of product management, launching five products and dramatically growing Optiant' s customer base. Prior to joining Optiant, Jim was the vice president of product management at ECnet, Inc., a provider of supply chain collaboration solutions to Global 2000 manufacturers. Jim drove the company's rapid expansion into new markets, tripling business to 1,700 customers in nine countries, and worked with many of the world's largest electronics manufacturers, including Seagate, Solectron, Matsushita, and TSMC.

He brings more than ten years experience in operations and supply chain management at Hewlett-Packard. There, he led an initiative that rapidly achieved profitability and annually saved tens of millions of dollars, by reducing inventory and reorganizing supply chain operations.

An inaugural fellow of MIT's prestigious Leaders for Manufacturing program, Jim earned an MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management and a master's degree in electrical engineering from the School of Engineering. He also holds a bachelor's degree from Tufts University.


Hau Lee, Conference Chairman and Professor of Operations, Information and Technology, Stanford University
Hau L. Lee is the Kleiner Perkins, Mayfield, Sequoia Capital Professor and Deputy Chairman of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, and Professor of Operations Management (by courtesy) at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. His areas of specialization include supply chain management, global logistics system design, inventory planning, quality control and assurance, and manufacturing strategy. He is the founding and current Director of the Stanford Global Supply Chain Management Forum, an industry-academic consortium to advance the theory and practice of global supply chain management.

Professor Lee's research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health, Ford Motor Company, Hewlett-Packard Company, Sloan Foundation, AT&T Foundation, and the State of California. He has published widely in journals such as Management Science, Operations Research, Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, IIE Transactions, Interfaces, European J. of Operational Research, and Naval Research Logistics, etc.

He has served on the editorial boards of many international journals, such as Operations Research, Management Science, IIE Transactions, J. of Manufacturing and Operations Management, and American J. of Mathematical and Managerial Sciences. He was the Editor of the IIE Transactions in Scheduling and Logistics, is an Advisory Editor of the J. of Production and Operations Management Society and the Asian J. of Business and Information Management, and is the current Editor-in-Chief of Management Science.

Professor Lee's research in medical education planning for the State of West Virginia received the Health Application Section Spotlight Prize by the Operations Research Society of America. His work on multi-echelon inventory system design and control for IBM's National Service Division was a finalist in the Edelman Application Prize Competition by the Institute of Management Science. His work on resource deployment of global manufacturing and distribution network for Apple Computer won the first prize by the Lauder Institute and the Institute of Management Science, for the Best Advances in the Theory and Practice of International Management Science.

Professor Lee has consulted extensively for companies such as Hewlett-Packard Company, SUN Microsystems, Apple Computer, IBM, General Motors, Xilinx Corp., Andersen Consulting, Eli Lilly and Company, McKesson, Motorola, and NON-STOP Logistics Company.

Professor Lee obtained his B.Soc.Sc. degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Hong Kong, his M.Sc. degree in Operational Research from the London School of Economics, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Operations Research from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.


Leo Lambert, Technical Director & Vice President, EPTAC Corp.
Leo P. Lambert, Vice President, EPTAC Corporation, is a former member of Circuit Assembly's Editorial Review Board. He was a manufacturing consultant engineer for 20 years at Digital Equipment Corporation and is a technical consultant for all elements related to the plated through hole and surface mount technology soldering operations, including equipment and material selection, process development, workmanship criteria and liaison to all design and component engineering groups. Leo's textbook, Soldering for Electronic Assemblies, was published by Marcel Dekker in 1987.
Ram Manchi, Cisco Systems
Ram has 18 years of global corporate experience in communications and technology industry. During his tenure with AT&T, Lucent and Cisco, Ram gained a diverse functional experience. Ram currently is a Senior Manager for Customer Advocacy Business Controls, an organization that monitors and prevents abuse of Cisco services through warranty and contract entitlements. One of their primary focus is to contain and prevent compromise of Cisco's intellectual property (IP). During the past couple of years, Ram and his team have enhanced and established business controls to ensure Cisco's IP protection.

Ram is an active member of AGMA (Anti Gray Market Alliance). AGMA is an organization to address the gray/counterfeit issues impacting high-tech industry with significant financial losses and IP compromises. Ram is engaged in AGMA to understand and assess the downstream impact of Gray and counterfeit markets - their impact on service supply chaain and IP.


Brian McNally, President North American Components, Arrow Electronics
Brian McNally is President of North American Components, America's leading provider of semiconductor, passive, electro-mechanical, and connector products and services to original equipment manufacturers and contract manufacturers.

Since beginning his career at Arrow over 20 years ago, Brian has held multiple positions, including Director of Customer Marketing, President of Arrow Alliance, and President of Arrow Contract Manufacturing Services (CMS).

Brian relocated to England in 2000 to assume the role of Managing Director for Arrow Northern Europe. In this position, he was responsible for the Arrow Nordic Components group, Microtronica UK, and Arrow Electronics UK. In early 2001, Brian helped to launch Alliance Europe before taking responsibility for this business unit in 2002.

Brian received his BBA in production operations and his MBA from the University of Michigan.


Jim Miller, Vice President, Supply Chain and Logistics, Cisco Systems
Jim Miller is vice president of Supply Chain and Logistics, responsible for Cisco's supply chain strategy and global logistics. Miller joined Cisco in January 2002. Previously, at Amazon.com, he held the position of vice president of supply chain. At Amazon.com, he built the Supply Chain group whose responsibilities included inventory management, operations research and network optimization, inbound transportation, global supply chain management and enterprise integration, which included Amazon.com's EDI and B2B exchanges with its suppliers and fulfillment partners.

Before joining Amazon.com, he was at Teledesic, a Seattle-based telecommunications start-up. Miller also was at Intel Corporation where he was production manager of a microprocessor assembly and test plant, as well as leading process technology transfers from development to production sites. He was also at IBM Corporation in various technical marketing and systems development roles.

Miller has a Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Purdue University, a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters of Science in management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.


Manish Modi, Senior Director, Oracle Manufacturing, Oracle Corporation
Manish Modi has been involved in building business solutions to address the supply chain management and manufacturing execution and shop floor management needs of companies for over 14 years.

Manish Modi is a Senior Director at Oracle for Applications Development. He is responsible for the Discrete Manufacturing product family that support mixed mode manufacturing methodologies - Discrete Jobs, Flow Manufacturing (Lean), Lot Based Jobs (OSFM), Configure To Order, Project Manufacturing, and Quality Management. These applications are created to address the needs of the industries such as High Tech, Industrial Manufacturing, Medical Devices, Consumer Product Goods, Automotive, A&D, and ETO. He is currently focused on not only Lean Manufacturing but applying the principles of Lean to all aspects of the Supply Chain as well as IT operations.

Prior to joining Oracle Manish gained hands on manufacturing experience at companies like Siemens, Premier Automobiles and Voltas.

Manish Modi holds a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Bombay, and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Automation from the Univ. of California, Berkeley.

Sid Mohasseb is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vital Source, Inc. a privately held independent distributor of electronic components head quartered in the United States with offices in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. Vital Source was created as result of a strategic acquisition, resulting in creation of one of the fastest growing and financially sound distributors in the world with a focus of serving other distributors globally. Sid has lead Vital Source to enjoy a respectable position in the open market through aggressive utilization of technology, strategic and targeted inventory build up of over 1 Billion parts with a market value of over 70.0 Million dollars, and formation of a product knowledgeable global team.

Previously, Sid served as Chairman and CEO of Competitive Knowledge Inc (CKI). Mohasseb' s vision for CKI grew out of two decades of leadership and expertise in management consulting. An internet company with a capitalization valued at over $48.0 Million.


Paul Novak, Chief Executive Officer, Institute for Supply ManagementTM (ISM)
Paul Novak is the chief executive officer, Institute for Supply ManagementTM (ISM). He was named executive vice president and chief operating officer of ISM in June 1997. Novak assumed the chief executive officer title during the first quarter of 2000. Before being named to these positions, Novak managed a wide variety of responsibilities for eight years with ISM. As senior vice president and treasurer of ISM, he was responsible for operations, finance, marketing, membership, and product and service development.

Novak received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Michigan State University. He is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Not-for-Profit Management Program.


Steve Rago, Principal Analyst, iSuppli Corporation
Steven Rago came to iSuppli with twenty plus years in the networking and optical communications industry including fourteen years in semiconductors. Prior to joining iSuppli, Rago served as the Senior Marketing Manager for Agere Systems, where he was responsible for growing the DSL central-office IC businesses. He previously was the Business and Marketing Manager for the communications segment within Motorola Semiconductor. He was responsible for market development and revenue growth, business and strategic planning, market forecasts, sales analysis and product planning. Rago has also served Fujitsu/GTE Business Systems, Harris Digital Telephone Systems, and ITT Courier data communications systems in a variety of product planning, marketing and engineering posts. Rago earned a BS in Mathematics at Fairleigh Dickinson University and an MS in Mathematics at Maryville College.
Dr. Mahesh Rajasekharan, Vice President, Global Semiconductor Industry Practice, i2 Technologies
Mahesh Rajasekharan is responsible for i2' s overall semiconductor business worldwide. This involves both leading the definition and requirements for i2' s Semiconductor solution footprint as well as ensuring successful delivery of implementations across i2' s semiconductor customers globally.

During his 7 year tenure at i2 Mahesh has held a variety of positions in the Semiconductor and High Tech business unit. As the Director of the Semiconductor Business Unit at i2 he was responsible for all aspects of sales, implementation, and post-implementation at several key North American Semiconductor accounts. Previously he was the Director of Semiconductor Consulting where he managed implementation and solution efforts at numerous Semiconductor companies such as Philips Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, Samsung Semiconductors, National Semiconductor, Integrated Device Technology, Cypress Semiconductor, Altera, Toshiba Semiconductor and others. Prior to his consulting role, Mahesh was involved in core solutions development where he helped design fundamental optimization solutions for different classes of strategic and tactical planning problems. Much of his work has focused on solving large-scale planning problems of the type encountered in major Semiconductor, Computers, and Consumer Electronics companies.

His expertise is in Manufacturing Planning Systems design and Applied Operations Research. He has published several articles and presented conference papers in the areas of Strategic Planning, Material Handling, and Scheduling, as applied to Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing. Mahesh obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Manufacturing Systems and Operations Research, from Texas &M University. He received his Master' s degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University, and Bachelor' s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, India.


John Sedej, Vice President, Flextronics
John Sedej is the Vice President of the SimFlex Group, an independent supply chain software and consulting services group within Flextronics that offers unique strategic supply chain consulting services to global companies.

SimFlex is a unique and proprietary technology developed solely to address the dynamic and challenging complexities of global supply chains. Using SimFlex, The SimFlex Group is able to present a complete analysis that evaluates a spectrum of supply chain alternatives to its customers in order to assist them in making the most strategic and cost effective decisions on the many complex supply chain issues that companies face.

John Sedej brings over twenty years of strategic supply chain experience, including global manufacturing, quality and operations experience within the Hi-Tech Electronics, Aerospace and Automotive sectors. His previous experience as a strategic Supply Chain and Procurement Manager at Hewlett Packard included developing and implementing global supply chain strategies for the ink jet products group for the Asian, North American and European markets.

John Sedej has a double B.S.E degree with majors in electrical and biomedical engineering and a minor in mechanical engineering from Duke University. He also has a MBA from the University of San Diego in international business and finance.


Jordan Selburn, Principal Analyst, iSuppli Corporation
Jordan came to iSuppli with decades of extensive experience in ASIC, Programmable Logic and semiconductor intellectual property (IP) analysis, product marketing, and engineering development. Prior to joining iSuppli, Jordan served as the Director of Product Marketing for Amphion Semiconductor, where he was tasked with management of the technical product marketing team. He launched products in all of Amphion's product families in addition to providing in-depth sales support for the products and the IP business model. Prior to his tenure with Amphion, Jordan was the Principal Analyst for ASIC and IP at Gartner Group/Dataquest and as such was responsible for the evaluation and analysis of semiconductor IP as well as the ASIC and programmable logic markets. He formulated and presented tracking and forecasting on technology and market trends with particular emphasis on system-level integration as part of his duties at Gartner Group/Dataquest. Marketing Manager and Product Line Manager positions at LSI Logic preceded his employment at Gartner Group/Dataquest. At LSI Logic, Jordan was charged with establishing product positioning and pricing for their production ASIC products. In addition, he generated technical requirements and provided marketing direction to product development teams along with creating business plans for 0.6 micron and 0.35 micron technologies. Before LSI Logic, Jordan was an ASIC Technology Manager and a Corporate Applications Engineer at Valid Logic Systems/Cadence Design Systems and was also associated with Agilent/EEsof, Inc. and Harris Corporation in various engineering capacities. Jordan holds a Masters of Science in Engineering Economic Systems from Stanford University in addition to an MBA with distinction from Santa Clara University and a BSEE with honors from the University of Michigan.
Paul Semenza, Vice President, iSuppli Corporation
Paul has been with Stanford Resources since 1997. He oversees market research and strategic analysis for the firm's multiclient and custom studies. He also manages the day-to-day operations of iSuppli/Stanford Resources. From 1985 to 1992, Paul was a member of the technical staff at The Analytic Sciences Corporation (TASC), where he was responsible for technology assessment, systems analysis, modeling and simulation, engineering design, and experimental demonstration on optical and electro-optical systems. He was an analyst at the Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), U.S. Congress, from 1993 to 1995, where he was the author of the 1995 report, Flat Panel Displays in Perspective, and he contributed to a study on innovation and commercialization of emerging technologies. When the OTA was abolished by Congress in 1995, Paul joined Mogee Research and Analysis Associates, where he contributed to business development and technology assessment activities, applying patent trend analysis to the global positioning system (GPS) industry. Prior to joining iSuppli/Stanford Resources, Paul was a Program Officer at the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board of the National Research Council, where he directed studies on software engineering, wireless communication technologies, and the economic and social impacts of computing and communications technologies. Paul received a BSEE and MS in electro-optics from Tufts University. In 1994, he was awarded a Master in Public Policy degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Greg Sheppard, Executive Vice President, iSuppli Corporation
Greg came to iSuppli from Dataquest/Gartner Group, where he led the semiconductor practice. At Dataquest, Greg's insights and experience were valued by hundreds of electronics companies around the world. Now his extensive experience is focused on helping buyers and sellers operate more efficiently by utilizing iSuppli Market Intelligence Services. Market Intelligence Services form the foundation of all iSuppli services, providing critical information designed to enrich tactical decisions and strategic plans of electronic component suppliers and users. In his current position, Greg directs the world's largest and most experienced team of component, systems, and application market analysts. Prior to joining iSuppli, Greg was Vice President and Worldwide Director of the Dataquest/GartnerGroup Semiconductor Group and had been with the organization for more than a decade. Greg began his career as an engineer at GTE, subsequently moving to a staff position in strategic marketing and planning at Fairchild Semiconductor before joining Dataquest in 1987. Greg earned a BSEE and Computer Science degree at the University of Colorado in Boulder and a Masters degree in Systems Management at the University of Southern California.
Leon Shivamber, Vice President, Supply Chain Management and Operations, Harris Corporation
Leon V. Shivamber is the vice president-Supply Chain Management and Operations for Harris Corporation. Mr. Shivamber provides companywide leadership in the areas of procurement, logistics, and operations strategy and execution. He joined Harris in 2004. Before joining Harris, Mr. Shivamber founded Vertisync, a New York based supply chain service company, where he successfully built alliances with leading supply chain infrastructure and service providers. From 1996 to 2001, he held senior positions for supply chain management, product management, and strategic planning at Arrow Electronics, a global distributor of electronic components and provider of supply chain and value-added solutions to more than 175,000 customers. Prior to joining Arrow Electronics, he spent 10 years in management consulting with McKinsey and Company and New York Consulting Partners, where he led supply chain and operations activities for U.S. and international clients. He earned a B.B.A. from Baruch College of the City University of New York, and an M.B.A. from Indiana University.
Greg Shoemaker, Vice President Procurement, Hewlett-Packard
With more than 23 years experience, of which 18 years has been spent with Compaq and HP, Mr. Shoemaker is integral in driving cost savings and efficiencies throughout the procurement process for HP. In his role on the Procurement council for HP, he drives the development of HP's procurement policies, best practice implementation, and creation of strategic supplier programs.

During the integration process of pre-merger HP, Mr. Shoemaker was directly responsible for identifying the best procurement practices of both companies and developing strategies for the successful integration and value capture for the new procurement team.

Leveraging his expertise extending partner relationships deeper into the supply chain, improving HP's influence over quality, security and information processes, Mr. Shoemaker will speak to best practices and key learnings from HP's collaboration with supply chain partners in a way that will bring value to OEMs of all sizes.


Ken Stanvick, Sr. Vice President, Design Chain Associates, LLCs
Ken Stanvick, Senior Vice President, Design Chain Associates, LLC, has over 25 years of experience in the High Tech Electronics Industry. His responsibilities have spanned the roles of design engineer, custom and industry standard component engineering group manager, quality assurance manager, and independent consultant at Western Electric, Raytheon, Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computer Corporation. He is highly qualified in all aspects of the design and supply chains with a thorough understanding of the best practices, processes and requirements of design, electronic component supplier technical and business management, systems manufacturing, test, quality and reliability engineering, and ISO registration.
Ron Torten, Vice President of Global Sourcing, Agilent Technologies
Ron Torten is vice president of global sourcing for Agilent Technologies' Semiconductor Product Group, a leading supplier of advanced semiconductor components. Torten was most recently vice president and general manager for the Networking and Entertainment Division of Agere Systems. Prior to Agere, Torten spent seven years with Quantum Corporation, where he served in a variety of positions including director of product marketing, manager of strategic planning, and manager of supply chain and purchasing. Torten holds a BS degree in chemical engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of California at Davis.
Dave Towne, Sun Microsystems
Dave Towne is currently the Director of Engineering Technologies and Services within the Central Engineering organization at Sun Microsystems. This role includes the responsibility of leading Sun's RoHS Program Management Office that provides the leadership and direction of activities that will result in compliance to the variety of RoHS environmental legislations that exist.

Other responsibilities include a variety of component engineering functions and PC design activities.

Prior to Sun, Dave was at LSI Logic, where he led a group responsible for semiconductor packaging and component engineering.

Dave is presently quite active in both European Union and China industry lobbying activities related to RoHS regulations, working through both AeA and EICTA consortia.


Hein van der Zeeuw, Executive Vice President, Multimarket Segment, Philips Semiconductors
Dr. Hein van der Zeeuw was appointed General Manager for Philips' MultiMarket Semiconductors Business Unit in October 2002. Prior to this, he was CEO for Philips Optical Storage, a division of Philips' Components Product Division, from 1999 to 2002.

Hein has been with Philips since 1982 and has held various positions of increasing resposibility. He began his career with Philips' Semiconductors Product Division in the field of components and IC domains, which led to a 3 1/2-year assignment in the U.S.A. in the early nineties. In 1995, Hein was appointed Director of the Consumer IC Business Line in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Three years later, he was promoted to Senior Vice President within Philips' Semiconductors Product Division and held general management responsibility for the Telecom Terminals Business Unit located in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

A Dutch national, Hein holds a PhD in physics from the University of Leiden, The Netherlands. Hein was born in 1954, is married and has three children.


Gray Williams, Vice President, Worldwide Supply Chain, Logitech
Gray Williams is responsible for Logitech's Worldwide Supply Chain where he directs all aspects of demand management, supply planning, transportation, logistics, order fulfillment, and customer service. He is currently driving key improvement programs at Logitech that deliver lower total supply chain costs, optimal inventory levels, and best-in-class customer satisfaction.

Prior to joining Logitech in January 2003, he was Vice President, Supply Chain Operations for the CommWorks Division of 3Com. Prior to 3Com, he has held various senior operations management positions at Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, NEC Electronics, AMD, and US Robotics. He has over 25 years of experience in the electronics industry.

Williams has served the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for four years as an Examiner and Senior Examiner. He is Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) with APICS, and has also been a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) with the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). Gray is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Purdue University's School of Management where he received his B.S. in Industrial Management.
